Engagement Party Prep

As I mentioned in the last post, Mike and I decided on "A Country-Chic Picnic" for our Engagement Party theme.

Here are our "Inspiration Ideas":

  • Red + White Gingham
  • Mason Jar Vases
  • Paper PomPoms
  • Glass Pop Bottles with paper straws
  • Fun food and desserts

Engagement Pictures

We already had our wedding photographers picked - Renaissance Studios - but a great way to get comfortable with your photographer before the big day is doing Engagement pictures.

Our Engagement Party was coming up, so we decided to go with our party theme and head out with the photographer Josh for a picnic.

Josh is great.  We told him what we had in mind and he picked a great location for the shoot - Scotsdale Farm in Halton Hills (near Georgetown,Ontario).

We shot with Josh for two hours and he sent us these seven shots a week later so we would have them in time to use at our Engagement Party.  Can't wait to see the rest of them!

The Wedding "Theme"

Once we had our venue picked - Le Meridien's King Edward Hotel in Toronto, it was obvious what the wedding's colour scheme was going to be.

The Soverign Ballroom on the main floor of the hotel is beautiful.  Heavily coffered ceilings, moulding on the walls - the room is almost all white.  The curtains are a pale gold colour, and the unique carpeting is a giant swirl made of different shades of green, with a dark wood boarder surrounding the room.

So these will be our colours:

  • shades of white, cream, grey and champagne
  • yellow and rose gold accents
  • pops of green
